Group Tour Suggested Itinerary

The sample two-day itinerary below allows plenty of time to see the sites and shop at our unique Museum Stores. We can help modify this itinerary to accommodate your group's special needs and work some fun and culture into your group's schedule.

Day One

10:00a.m.   Arrive in the Straits of Mackinac region.
                   Tour Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park (five minutes     from Mackinaw City).
1:00p.m.     Lunch at Historic Mill Creek Discovery Park (Cold and hot lunches and beverages available in the Visitor's Center.)
2:00p.m.     Tour Colonial Michilimackinac, Mackinaw City.
4:00p.m.     Check in, Straits of Mackinac lodging facility.
                    Rest, relax, shop or stroll.
5:00p.m.     Dinner at a Mackinaw City restaurant
7:00p.m.     Enjoy a live show, shopping and a beautiful Straits of Mackinac sunset.
9:30p.m.     Return to lodging facility.

Day Two

Morning Option 1
 
7:30a.m.   Breakfast
8:30a.m.   Board ferry to Mackinac Island from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace.
9:00a.m.   Carriage tour of Mackinac Island.
11:00a.m. Tour Fort Mackinac.

Morning Option 2

8:00a.m.  Breakfast
9:00a.m.  Tour Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse (just east of Colonial Michilimackinac Visitor's Center)
11:00a.m. Board ferry to Mackinac Island from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace.
11:45a.m. Tour Fort Mackinac.

Afternoon

12:30p.m.  Lunch, Fort Mackinac Tea Room.
1:30p.m.    Free time. Re-board carriages and return to village or stroll downhill from Fort Mackinac--a five-minute walk.
2:00p.m.    Explore Mackinac State Historic Parks' Historic Downtown Buildings on Market Street (Admission included with Fort Mackinac ticket mid-June to late August).  Allow group time to explore Mackinac's quaint shops and buy fudge!
4:30p.m.    Check in, Mackinac Island lodging facility or board ferry to Mackinaw City or St. Ignace.
5:00p.m.    Rest, relax, shop or enjoy local biking, hiking and nature
6:00p.m.    Dinner
8:00p.m.    Return to lodging facility or plan another night on the town.
